42 more days!

I went to the doctors again today and as usual had to wait forever! If I'm lucky I will have only 5 more appts. to wait! I've reached 34 weeks and am beginning the 35th week of pregnancy! Time continues to tick away and I continue to become more and more uncomfortable.
Last night was our last childbirth class. We were able to tour the Labor and Delivery section of the hospital as well as the maternity department. It made it more of a reality for us as we will hopefully be there sooner than later. It was helpful to see where we should go and how things will be done when we are there. But at the same time it's also a bit scary....now knowing what will happen and how things will occur...especially since there was a fetal death that had occurred moments prior to us visiting. When we found out everyone in the class became a little weary and anxious. We're praying that things will go smoothly and without any complications for mommy, baby and daddy!
Daryn's work schedule continues to be crazy...working lots of hours and Saturdays too! He's becoming drained! The end of the quarter doesn't help the situation either. Tonight will be a very late night/early morning for him. We're hoping and praying that things will get better soon and he'll be able to start enjoying the PHILLIES season!

ANOTHER YEAR!

I'm another year older today...can't really believe that I'm now 29 years old! Where has the time gone? In some ways it seems like just yesterday that I was a teenager wishing I was older. I couldn't wait to reach my twenties. Now, I have only one more year to be twenty-something.
But, I'm definately looking forward to this year. I can't wait to be blessed with the birth of our baby and to be a MOM! It's the other thing that I wished for since I was little! And in 7 more weeks that wish will come true!

Here's the rest of the story....

So what ended up happening?!?!?!? My parents finally were able to make it up north despite the weather. They got one of the lat flights allowed to land in BWI. From there they rented a car and drove to our house in NJ. It took them over 4 hours in the snow, sleet, ice mixture. My dad had his fill of driving in that kind of weather. They both forgot what it was like since they have lived in Florida for over two years now. By the end of the weekend, both were ready to return to warm and sunny Florida :)

Unfortunately, Jen was not able to make it up north. Her flight along with all the other flights to Philly and surrounding areas were cancelled. She looked into so many other options but no luck :( which was really hard for all of us since she and Tara were planning a shower for me.

The winter weather came and went but everyone had to deal with the mess and clean up come Saturday. The shower went on as planned and we had a great time. It was nice seeing people that I haven't seen in a while and having an opportunity to catch up. Opening presents and receiving baby gifts made us even more excited about the upcoming arrival of our baby!

That night we picked up the crib and changing table along with the bedding accessories. Daryn ventured to put the crib and changing table together without directions as he wanted the challenge! My mom helped with the bedding and setting up more of the room. So it is almost finished and ready for baby!

My parents headed back to Florida on Monday, which was hard. It was a great visit! The next time I'll see them will be after the baby is born when they come up to visit and see their grandbaby! I really wish that we didn't live so far away!

On a Better Note!

Despite all the havoc of the weather, I ventured to the doctors this morning for my 32nd week visit. After waiting forever in the waiting room, the visit was pretty quick and standard. The doctor said things look good. Everything is right on track. The good news/bad news depending on how you look at it is that the baby is probably weighing over 5lbs. She told me our little boy or girl is going to be a big baby! We will have to wait and see what happens!

It's March?!?!

What in the world is going on with this weather?!?!? The snowy, icy, wintry mix couldn't have come at a worse time :( My parents and sister were scheduled to come to NJ this weekend. But, the wonderful wintry mix caused both of their flights to be cancelled and in them limbo! My parent's flight from Florida was originally delayed early this morning due to fog. Then, it was cancelled due to the wintry mix and overflow of airtraffic. Apparently most flights into Philadelphia airport were cancelled causing mass problems. Jen's flight from Georgia was still "on time" according to the websites. But she found out that just like all flights into PHL hers was cancelled too!
So as of now, my parents are in the air in route to Baltimore and plan on driving to Philly and meeting us there at some point. Jen has less options......next flight to PHL would be on Monday.... or a late flight tonight to Baltimore. She's trying for the latter...so hopefully Baltimore won't have problems. My parents will probably hang around and wait for her and drive to Philly late tonight. WHO KNOWS!!!! It's so complicated and I am so ready for winter to be over!

31 Weeks Completed !

We've completed 31 weeks of pregnancy with 9 more to go. This week wasn't such a great week as I was dealing with illness.....It stinks being sick but to be sick and pregnant at the same time is horrible. Fortunately enough, it lasted only a few days and I'm starting to feel better and regain strength.

Last night we had our first Childbirth Education class. It was good to hear from others who are due on or around our due date. The video we watched was insightful for Daryn as he learned more about what's going to take place in a few months. It provided more excitement as well as anxiety for me as I anticipate how the process is going to be for me.

This past weekend we were able to visit with our nephew Benjamin. It had been a few weeks since we saw him last. We can't believe that he is already 6 weeks old! He's gotten bigger and more alert since the last time we saw him. Daryn had the experience of changing his diaper, which was probably the first time Daryn ever changed a diaper. He lucked out though...Benjamin didn't leave a present for him. Doug was able to supervise Daryn and give him advise as to how it should be done. So we will see if that practice pays off for him when it's time to change our little one's diaper.

10 Weeks and Counting....

30 Weeks have passed and 10 more to go. We are both anxiously awaiting May 12, 2007 for the arrival of our newborn! There's lots to do before that special day but we can't wait!
Today the doctor said everything looks good.....and there's nothing to worry about! So, just trying to hang in there and hope that time will fly!

Over 8 months!

It's been over 8 months since our wedding day. Daryn and I were married on June 24, 2006 in Souderton, PA. Despite the rain, we had a wonderful and memorable day! Everyone told us that rain symbolized "SHOWERS OF BLESSINGS"! We're very thankful for all the blessings that we have had over the last 8 months!
